Max Jones, Associate Attorney

Max Jones is originally from Connecticut but has lived, worked and studied, in Montana, Colorado, New York, and California. He earned his B.A. in 2018 from Hobart College and his J.D. in 2023 from Santa Clara University.  He chose Oregon to build his career because of the great environmental law opportunities and its access to the outdoors. Max joined Schroeder Law Offices in September of 2023.

While pursuing his studies at Hobart College, Max had the opportunity to intern for various law firms in New York City. Experiencing the ins-and-outs of the law was exciting but it was his internship with Trout Unlimited that made him determined to become an attorney. And then, it was his experiences working on a ranch in Montana and as a fly-fishing guide in Colorado that solidified his interest in water law. In these roles he began to recognize the very real consequences of poor water management. Accordingly, he specialized in environmental law at Santa Clara and interned for firms focused on water law.

His focus on water law includes securing water rights; public lands (easements/right-of-way, permitting uses, grazing); groundwater interference and connection; and agriculture, municipal, and irrigation district water use permitting, extension, perfection, transfers, compliance, and protection.

Max Jones is fluent in Italian and here to help address all of your water-law questions.
