Schroeder Law Offices, PC is a water law firm serving municipal and agricultural clients. It serves clients in Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, and California. It sometimes has international consulting work for government contractors. Schroeder Law Offices needs a Legal Assistant in its Portland, Oregon office.
Job Description:
This position requires secretarial and interpersonal skills. The candidate must be able to organize, prioritize and track details in the face of many demands. The perfect candidate is highly motivated and thrives on owning projects from start to finish, yet is able to coordinate work within a team environment.
You will excel in this position if you can write and communicate well, follow up and meet deadlines, and drive projects to completion.
Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:
- Receptionist duties including
- maintaining office hours,
- greeting walk-ins,
- phone coverage, processing mail, email, and faxes
- Legal Secretary duties including
- maintaining/updating client files and providing client copies
- potential client intake, tracking client matters/deadlines
- preparing and finalizing client correspondence
- assisting in preparing and filing documents with the court
- public notice tracking and follow up, etc.
- Attorney, paralegal, and administrative support
- Limited facilities management and Accounts Payable
Qualifications:
An associates degree and/or demonstrable office experience required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office required. Schroeder Law Offices PC is a paperless office and applicants must be comfortable working in an all-digital environment. We will provide the training and support for office specific software and procedures.
Compensation & Benefits:
This position is a full-time hourly, non-exempt position. Wages commensurate with background and experience.
