PersonalTara grew up in Portland and Montana. She enjoys all things active and spends the warmer months mountain biking, hiking, and camping. BackgroundTara made her debut into the legal field at Schroeder Law Offices. She arrived fresh from completing her undergraduate studies, armed with extensive research, writing, and analytical skills gleaned from several research positions with the Oregon Health and Sciences University and the Oregon Department of Human Services. EducationShe earned her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Politics from Willamette University in 2005. While at Willamette Tara excelled academically, graduating Magna Cum Laude and earning membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society. She was also a member of Willamette’s Varsity Softball team where she was honored as an Academic All-American. Role and DevelopmentTara joined Schroeder Law Offices in 2005, where she quickly and proficiently assumed the position of Legal Secretary. During the following ten years Tara refined her research, analytical, and writing skills to encompass a variety of legal support duties. Tara is the Portland Office Senior Paralegal. In her current role, Tara directs and manages complex case work; provides initial and continual training to the Firm’s paralegals and other staff members; and assists in personnel management. Tara specializes in water related civil litigation in Oregon Courts and before administrative bodies; transactional water rights related work, including water rights review, permitting and transfer; and legal docketing; title and ownership research and document recording in support of water right conveyance work. While at Schroeder Law Offices Tara continues to pursue her interest in teaching, writing, and public speaking. In 2010, Tara had the opportunity to prepare and present a Lawsuits 101 course on behalf of Schroeder Law Offices. In 2011 she contributed to Schroeder Law Offices’ Water Right Assignments & Ownership Updates article. She is an active member of the Oregon Ground Water Association and serves as the vice president of the Yamhill County chapter of Oregon Women for Agriculture and works with these organizations to promote agriculture and the water well drilling industry.
