Kelsey joined Schroeder Law Offices in June 2023 as an Associate Attorney in the Portland Office. Kelsey’s interest in natural resources and sustainable use began while growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She grew up right along Lake Michigan, prompting her interest in natural resources.
Kelsey earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in Economics and Environmental Studies. During her time at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, she focused on environmental policy and history surrounding global environmental issues.
Achievements at University of Denver Sturm College of Law
Kelsey moved to Denver, Colorado for law school. She wrote on the University of Denver Water Law Review (duwaterlawreview.com) in her first year, motivated and excited to learn more about water law and water rights in the West. She was selected to join the editorial board her during second year, as an Articles Editor, and continued in this role her third year. During her time in law school, Kelsey was a student attorney for the Environmental Law Clinic, where she filed an appeal in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, and assisted clients during mediation conferences to achieve the one of the largest settlements the Clinic was involved in. In this Clinic, Kelsey also drafted a petition for review of final agency action related to NEPA violations.
After graduating law school, Kelsey clerked for the Honorable Judge Christine C. Antoun in the Colorado Judicial Branch Second Judicial District in Denver. Kelsey values the courtroom experience she gained in this role. While in this position, she was awarded “2022 Outstanding Courtroom Employee” for her strength in organization, legal drafting, and communication with the public.
When Kelsey is not hard at work in the office, she enjoys outdoor activities like camping, running, and biking, as well as baking, cooking, and watching Wisconsin football.
