Scott Borison
Scott Borison holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Stanford University, having earned his doctorate in electrical engineering 1972. After a distinguished career in data communications, notably with the Bell Laboratories in Holmdel, NJ, and with TRW and Xerox in Southern California followed by a number of years in the real estate industry he joined Schroeder Law Offices, PC in the spring of 1998.
Scott Borison earned the prestigious designation of Certified Legal Manager (CLM) in the fall of 2006 through the Association of Legal Administrators. This designation is awarded on the basis of experience, study and examination. He served in 2007 and 2008 on the Board of Directors of the Association of Legal Administrators, Oregon Chapter. As firm administrator, Dr. Borison is in charge of facilities, personnel, staffing, financial management, and technology. Due to his particular expertise, Schroeder Law Offices has moved into the the forefront of small office legal technology, moving toward electronic case management and automated document management. Dr. Borison is author of the firm’s web site as well as its intranet and server systems.
Technology
Dr. Borison is an advocate of having the computer do as much work as possible, making attorneys more productive for their clients. SLO has implemented on-line document management and retrieval, practice and case management, in-house email management and secure remote access. Because of these systems, attorneys who travel frequently throughout the Northwest and internationally can have instantaneous access to documentation and planning through the Internet. Further, with the systems in place the transition to working at home during the COVID era has been seamless. He is author of several articles on computerized document management systems.
