Tara J. Jackson

Tara made her debut into the legal field at Schroeder Law Offices.  She arrived fresh from completing her undergraduate studies, armed with extensive research, writing, and analytical skills gleaned from several research positions with the Oregon Health and Sciences University and the Oregon Department of Human Services.

Education

She earned her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Politics from Willamette University in 2005.  While at Willamette Tara excelled academically, graduating Magna Cum Laude and earning membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society.  She was also a member of Willamette’s Varsity Softball team where she was honored as an Academic All-American.

Role

Tara joined Schroeder Law Offices in 2005, where she quickly and proficiently assumed the position of Legal Secretary.  During the following five years Tara refined her research, analytical, and writing skills to encompass a variety of legal support duties.  Tara is Schroeder Law Offices’ Senior Paralegal.  In her current role, Tara directs and manages complex case work; provides initial and continual training to the Firm’s paralegals and other staff members; and assists in personnel management.  Tara specializes in legal docketing; title and ownership research in support of conveyance work; Nevada and Oregon contested case hearing support; and United States District Court litigation support.

Development

While at Schroeder Law Offices Tara continues to pursue her interest in teaching, writing, and public speaking.  In 2010, Tara had the opportunity to prepare and present a Lawsuits 101 course on behalf of Schroeder Law Offices.  In 2011 she contributed to Schroeder Law Offices’ Water Right Assignments & Ownership Updates article.

Tara currently volunteers with the Oregon Food Bank, in the Learning Garden. She also serves as an English as a second language tutor, working mainly with Spanish speaking minorities.
